I'm going to back up a bit and talk about why I started posting.
I have lots of conversations with people I know, and also with people I don't know. Last night on the A train, on my way to a big rally for Zohran Mamdani in Brooklyn I encountered (for the third time in a week or so) Kid Whiz busking. He starts out declaring "I am not good." You may have seen him. Anyway, last night, I gave him a dollar and told him that I've seen him so many times I thought I should know his name! He told me his real name and I introduced myself. I'm sure I'll see him again. I hope so. He makes me smile as he jumps around and tosses around his hat, which always lands on his head! (See link below)
But I digress.
I introduce myself to people more and more lately, for a couple of reasons. These days I need to feel connected to other people more than ever AND I want to tell people about Zohran Mamdani's mayoral campaign for
A City We Can Afford. That was the theme of the rally last night. More on that later!
I'm posting, not because I know all the answers (OMG, no!) but because I want to have more conversations with the people I know and with those I have yet to meet. I'm hoping that this platform will facilitate conversations in addition to the ones that happen by chance in person.
